What is ECDY Pure Professional by Tsunami Nutrition and what is it for?

What is ecdysterone?

Ecdisteroneor beta ecdisterone or 20-hydroxyecdysone is an ecdisteroid compound, a naturally occurring hormone with excellent properties for improving muscle volume and athletic performance.

At the molecular level, ecdisteroids are synthesized from cholesterol (like many hormones) once metabolized from the liver by cytochrome P450s. Thus, ecdisteroids are believed to play an essential role in morphogenesis, that process necessary for tissue development.

Humans also have receptors for ecdisteroids that, when activated, can promote various health benefits, including muscle growth and physical recovery.

What exactly does ecdisterone do?

It was initially thought to be a purely androgenic compound and could only interact with androgenic hormones such as testosterone. Instead, interestingly, the receptor to which ecdysterone binds is precisely the estrogen receptor beta (ERβ), which explains why the term "Beta" is used before the name.
